Pearl Barnette told how excited she was to be permitted to quilt at age six. Debbie Crawford recalled playing under the quilt frame as quilting was being done. Martha Lovelace recalled the quilts being made from feed sacks. Christine Ammons recalled that her mother had a friend, Gertie Baynard, that quilted with her. The quilting was so similar that no one could tell who stitched which line. Faye Flynn showed two quilts of her mother's and had a picture of her parents. Cynthia Ammons showed a crazy qult that was a recent gift for a baby shower. Pat Taylor showed a quilt made in 1969 by her grandmother. Barbara Evans's quilt was made in New York State by her sister-in-law. Barbara also had a quilt that was a gift to her husband for work he had done for an elderly lady.
Note: Thalia Shook, Martha Lovelace and Frances Phillips are sisters. Maiden name was Flack. All graduated from ASI.
